I often fear the future, not just the wear on the planet but the direction the world is going in. The writing is on the wall, but nobody is reading it.
I'm afraid we'll become more & more "disconnected" by communicating by devices only. No face-to-face contact hardly at all anymore, except maybe immediate family & friends, if even THOSE people.
More & more automation, putting more people out of work. And these people are left to fend for themselves. I know this has been going on for centuries, but I think the pace is really picking up now.
Worsening infrastructure, such as the drought here in the West worsening, as other areas get too much rain and flooding. We have an aging power grid, yet we spend money on things like bullet trains that won't get full enough to cover the cost of building it.
A bigger income gap and caste system as in novels like Brave New World and Divergent.
People live longer, but what about the QUALITY of that life? Not enough housing and GOOD jobs for everyone who needs them. There's already a high population of homeless people in this country, of all countries.
Reading dystopian novels is an outlet for me, as I see it coming. I just hope I don't live to see it.
Yeah, I sound bitter, but I really don't feel patriotic or "God Bless America". It's God "something else" America. The word would get censored but you all know what it is.
Not the "Superpower" we used to be, and we don't have nearly the influence we once had.
I fear us becoming a nation of rich and poor, mostly poor. The middle class will be GONE completely.
I have to stop here before my blood pressure goes up.
