I work for two companies. One only provides work of a morning, the other of an afternoon. My second company are really exploitive. They continously ask me to attend unpaid training and meetings at their headoffice (Often late at night and I don't drive) . I am an hourly paid employee and have been told I should be paid by a uk employment body as it comes under working time.
My boss insisted I go to a meeting tomorrow night that goes on for 2 hours and so will finish at 10PM. I said I couldnt but would happily do the training during paid work hours and he said this wasnt an option and I HAD to attend. I said I had spoken to the UK employment body over thefact they should be paying me to attend and he didn't reply to the email.
I now feel bullied into attending as I know if I dont, I will be threatened with a disciplinary as I know others have been. Now I have made the decision to go, I am worried they will berate me about calling the employment body and maybe discipline or fire me for that.
I havent been able to eat or sleep in days. I would feel such a failure if I lost this job and only worked mornings. They make me feel like I am always doing something wrong and it is making me ill with worry.
