If I were looking for something like this where I live, I guess the way I would start is to check with local mental health organizations, the state mental health department, mental health advocacy programs, and perhaps suicide-prevention hotlines. The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, for example, advertises that one doesn't have to be suicidal to call. They're there to help with any problem.

I know, from past experience, looking for specialized services can be a difficult & time-consuming job. And sometimes one never does find the needed service. But, on the other hand, sometimes the needed service, or something similar to it, does come along. So keep at it. Perhaps there are other PC members who will see your Thread who will have more specific suggestions. Good luck with this!
