When I go IP, I usually am crying hysterically and can't calm down. I'm not usually suicidal. I try to have my insurance call around for a bed and not go to the ER. I would just give your son a calm hug before you go anywhere. He'll be fine, especially if you're not too excited in a negative sense. I don't think they'll really keep you that long.
