Fruitylooper, I have irrational fears too. I use to be afraid of the dark but have grown out of that since I had children of my own and had to be able to calm their young fears, it kinda of helped me too.
My irrational fears now are just that totally irrational, sometimes silly ones like I'm afraid I'm going to get lost if I'm going somewhere alone or afraid someone is about to do something but can never work out just what.
Reading horror will most proberbly play into your already existing fears, but also maybe your trying to face the devil before he faces you kinda of thing, by reading such stuff???
Therapy is a good way of dealing with this fears and finding the route courses. Good luck.
