In modern dynamic relationship therapy, (Winnicott, Kohut, etc.)there is a time of so-called New Beginnings, where T allows the patient to have some of the love he/she missed growing up. Then, according to the books, there is the time when the patient is supposed to grieve the loss, and get well. Does anyone know what time schedule therapists do this sequence? How long does the T allow the good feelings before the abandonment part?
