My art teachers didnt intervene with me and my art. They told me to follow assignments and gave me freedom to do as i pleased. I was also not forced to do anything not even maintain a sketchbook. I was also allowed to turn assignments in as late as i wanted and still got As on them where other students had to obey deadlines.
