Someone (a female) hired me to help her with some work. Throughout the project, she was enthusiastic and said I was doing good work, and reiterated at the end of the project (asking me to return).

Then, hours after I left, she sent me an email telling me that on second thought, she has decided to hire someone else (in place of me) to finish the work. (And she said that she wasn't sure who replace me yet. So it was NOT a matter of having already found someone better.) I responded honoring her request, and asked for feedback to improve future work. No response from her and it's been 3 days.

Why would someone be that changeable? Should it be a red flag?

If she ends up wanting to hire me again, do you think I should accept the job?
