Hello blind archer,

You said that you are often told that you could have said something faster or you should use more synonyms, you know, that puts huge pressure on you. That would make you super aware and anxious to start off with. If you are prone to anxiety anyway, then you are likely to trip over your words and be afraid to speak for fear of being picked up on it.

There can be other reasons of course, psychosis for example can cause huge confusion and what we call 'word salad' where words are totally mixed up, dementia can do the same, depression can cause a dumbing down and slowness but anxiety seems the most likely reason. Of course I will urge you to get checked out with your doctor incase it is a brain tumor or something else physical causing the issue.
