From my understanding it could take a while to work. A while being month or more. I am sorry you are having such a hard time. I don't do well on meds myself. I am not suggesting you not take them though! I have been reading a lot on the nutrition of mental health and how certain foods can co tribute to depression and bi polar. Perhaps this could help you. I know there are professional articles on carb intake, sugars, and processed foods. GI levels of food also contribute. I am not an expert by no means, but something to possibly look at.
