no they dont expect you to refer to each part per se. its more of a natural process. if you happen to switch into the mind set/thinking/behavior pattern of that part your treatment provider will continue just like normal except they will switch over to working on what ever problem that you/that ego state is having at that moment...
just like if you were a normal whole person, sitting in therapy with your treatment provider and one moment you as a whole person/aware self was talking about puppies then the topic changed to doing housework, the treatment provider would naturally notice the change of topic and help you with your housework problem. Ego state therapy focuses on unity, treating the person as a whole and working out the problems as they present them selves. its a more normal approach rather than calling out alters (which is illegal in many USA states due to false memory and such problems) the only real difference is that the treatment provider is going to be helping you to understand why one thing causes you to act like a child and another makes you act like a responsible adult and other things make you want to act like a parent with your self and others around you.
