In our system there is no actual "core". We have a certain amount of co-awareness between each other but not totally. Our therapist came up with an analogy for how we experience our D.I.D.

It's like over the years each part was handed the baton in a relay race. One the new part grabbed it and continued on they became the "age of the body." Over the years that switched off to many other "parts" and the last one holding the baton is the one currently taking the role as the age of the body. Each part knows what the "shells" name is, the name of the body, but each part identifies as having a different name and no one relates to being the birth person. Does anyone else have this experience with their D.I.D.?

It's like all of the parts are part of each other and not a part of any core.
