I found it wasn't possible to be anxious if I focused on the moment and being more in the present; by finding things to distract myself, by doing things currently, now, it would go away.

Some T's once these gave me these visualizations, I don't know if this helps but supposedly there is no way to be anxious in the present; it is only when we ruminate on the past or begin to think of the future that causes anxiety:

Close you eyes and if you can picture/imagine an old radio or tv with knobs. On the knob has a setting or channels on it for the past, the present, and the future. Take a deep breath. Anytime you get anxious, picture yourself physically dialing the knob from the past or the future, back to the present to reset it, exhale the knob gets to its setting, and then taking a another series of deep breathes. Then give yourself permission to think of things you could be doing now as you come back to this moment.

The other image is to close you eyes and imagine a slow moving river, with leaves floating down it. Something that stresses you or causing anxiety, pick a leaf and place what it is causing the anxiety on it. Watch it float down the river until you can no longer see it, it will drop of the edge to oblivion on the horizon, deep breathing the entire time. Then refocus your energies into what you could be doing instead in this moment.

I don't know if this might help but I hope you find what works for you meanwhile. Hang in there.
