I think many antidepressants can cause mania in people prone to it. So, they are very cautiously given to people like me who have bipolar. However, I am currently taking Wellbutrin, Trazodone, and Cymbalta, in relatively small doses, with no problem.

I can't remember what antidepressant I took 14 years ago that kicked me into mania. It could have been Remeron. I only remember that it caused me to gain a whole lot of weight, so I wouldn't touch it now with a ten-foot celery stick.
