the best advice i ever got was to relax. i know this may sound impossible, but you just have to physically relax. this is something you can practice when you are not in a panic state so you can use it when you are. it is physically impossible to panic and relax at the same time. i really suck at relaxing with my ptsd background, i am usually hypervigilant, but this worked for me based on what little experience i had with relaxing from a few meditations i had done where the speaker walked me through relaxing my whole body and made it feel like a limp noodle. or if you ever got a massage, the limp feeling you had afterward, hot tub? whenever you had felt relaxed, the tension gone from your muscles, that limp feeling you have, like your body has let go. that is what you are after. you can practice this. so when you have a panic attack, just tell your body to go for that limp noodle feeling. let all your muscles go. and the panic attack will stop. the first time i did it, i had to do it three times. i felt possessed. but then it went away completely. i never had a problem stopping a panic attack again and now i just dont have them anymore since i know how to control them. i post this for people all the time and someone had read it and responded to me thanking me because they tried it and it worked. so give it a try. practice that relaxing so you can recall it. good luck.
