Check the processes and applications in the box after using "ctrl-alt-delete" like in the instructions above and see if you can find spykill in the list. When you install it, it runs all the time (so that it can protect your system), but the part that is always running is "in the background" meaning it doesn't have a button on the taskbar... that only shows when you have spykill open to make changes or run a manual scan.

IOW when you close that spykill application window, a part of spykill is still running and runs everytime you start Windows. The only way to stop that is with the ctrl-alt-del like in the instructions above. The part that runs this way may be in the Windows system folder and not in the spykill folder, so an empty or missing folder doesn't necessarily mean it is completely gone.
