Yeah, I would say the best thing is to try a different opinion, a different mental health professional. I once did something as simple as switch therapists, and the new therapist immediately saw traces of autism in me for example, which the other person missed. OK, I was a hard case I guess, because I did function quite normally, but that's all it took. You just need someone to explore what you think might be your issues initially. You can then go from there to get a clearer picture of what's going on.
