I know graduation ceremonies are a happy time because it's the time to celebrate graduating with your Bachelor's degree/Masters/phD (or whatever you're graduating with). But is it just me who finds the whole thing annoying and rather tedious?

Firstly, you have to take one of your valued holiday days from work to attend. And then wait around for over an hour whilst wearing those silly cap and gowns that quite frankly makes me feel like a plonker wearing them. When you actually get into the ceremony hall, you have to sit there listening to several speeches; and all what you are waiting for is to shake hands with somebody you don't even know.

Don't get me wrong..I love graduating as it gives me an amazing sense of achievement. But I interpret that everybody partakes in graduation ceremonies just for show and nobody actually enjoys them. I know nobody forces me to go, but it's very British that you have to be traditional even if you don't want to be.

Does anybody else feel the same towards graduation ceremonies as I do? lol.
