I was on SSRIs for about 10 years, then I stopped altogether and was completely med free for about 8 years and I functioned well. Then I went back on SSRIs, before trying SNRIs and after problems with both of those groups, I'm now on a completely different type of antidepressant. So yes I have come off SSRIs altogether, I'm pretty depressed right now, but I don't have any hangover symptoms of withdrawal from the SSRIs.
