I agree with ThunderBow - this is a healing dream. Your mother in the dream is not your mother... she represents the idea of being a provider for you. Everyone you are ringing represents the people you have been connecting with in terms of being able to move forward, though slowly. The holiday means that your sense of provision was on "holiday" (the mourning process), but now that your mind and emotions are dealing with your loss, you are realizing that you are able to deal with providing for yourself. It's actually a dream of immense inner support and strength. Your conscious mind just has to catch up with the rest of you.

I still have similar dreams of dead relatives, and I've come to realize that who I see in dreams is practically always symbolic of some sense of their character or role in life. Sometimes it can allude to what their name means, even. Rarely is it them.
