I was just talking about this very phenomenon with a friend of mine. He goes to a day program and every little thing he does is used to point toward a symptom of one mental disorder or another. If he wears black, he is depressed....I said no, wearing black just means you feel FAT from all those psych meds! We both had a good laugh!
If cutting your hair off for a pixie cut means you are bipolar, then I must've been bipolar at the age of SEVEN! Geesh! Yes, I had always had long light blonde hair and one day I wanted to chop it all off. (Like my mom was gonna fight me on this one, I mean it was a daily ordeal to keep the knots out of it!) So I cut it all off, and didn't grow it out again until my mid 30's. Its been all sorts of lengths in between but right now is the longest I've had it since I was a young child.
Thinking ahead.....I'm getting it cut in the morning. Gasp! I hope that the length that my stylist cuts off doesn't correlate to how bad my mind is! Uhm, no, more like I'm gonna tell him to cut it and make it look good, and if you need to cut more than a few inches, warn me so I can cry and get it out of my system, LMAO. (I bet they'd say I was bipolar for crying over cutting my hair! Seriously, you can never win...)
Wear your short hair proudly! Its only hair, and you can always grow it out again. (IF that's what you so desire!)
