I would agree that I did not go for my associates and almost did not go to for my bachelor's that I got late in life because of feeling this way, waste of time and energy. I changed my mind because of my family. Standing and then sitting through it for HOURS, became really painful until I walked across the stage, when the president had something personal to say to each of us; it was touching, no earwig, no cue cards, it was impressive. I had never met her and she had very personal encouraging words and congrats. It made the whole thing worthwhile plus the look on my families' faces afterwards, it was important to them and they were important to me to help me get through school. It made it worth it in the end.
