I feel on the fence about pronouns and if I'd rather go by a gender neutral/more masculine name. It's such a hassle to change all of that and will it actually make me feel better in the end?

Hard to say without trying it out. Are there people in your life who are open and willing to try this with you? If not, you could always try a free online game and getting into a social setting there and try things out there. It might be harder with neutral pronouns unless it's a more mature/open community but you could probably try male pronouns there at least. Just throwing that idea out there, do with it what you will
I look forward to the day when people realize they don't need to understand everything about a person in order to respect who they are, including their gender and pronouns. Ah well, one day I hope!
