I've never figured out why people think they have the right to comment about other people's hair (or weight or height or age or whatever). It's your hair. Wear it however you want to wear it. Personally I prefer my hair short. It's w-a-y easier to take care of.
I have rather androgynous facial features, am flat chested and most of my life did not have any butt or hips to speak of. People used to (heck they still do!) mistake me for a boy/man. My mother told me it was because of my short hair. Well, I still got "hey fella" comments when I let it grow out. I like it short. I prefer the way it looks short. And like I said, it's way easier to care for. Wash it, comb it and add a little gel and I'm good to go.
