This: "I want to hide my unhappiness from my mother as she seems to be doing a lot better not knowing that I'm secretly unhappy" how you're feeling matters just as much as how she's feeling. If it might help you by sharing with her, please share with her.
You really shouldn't be putting others feelings that much above your own especially your mother's who might want to be there for you.
But if talking to her might not help anyway, then you certainly don't have to hide your unhappiness on here. It matters!!!
And I know sometimes it's real hard to care about yourself, but if it helps at all just remember we care about you, you're so worth caring about, and let that give you just a little strength
And in general maybe try some of the self-care bits, like doing something that might otherwise make you feel good. It might not make you feel good at all to start with but if you keep on at it...................???
And slight positive there, in that you're doing a little better and better roommates!!! Even positive changes (with changes in environment) can be a bit stressful, overwhelming or bring you down, but really hoping you can feel more of the benefits as you have more time to adjust.
And anyway, with depression everything can be "good" in your life but that doesn't stop you feeling the depression. At least you're doing a little better though.........excellent step forward!!!
