It does sound rather pointless to ask for permission then never consult each other. Have you asked them about that? I would, just to get their perspective on it.

I actually did ask T about it and she said she would look into it. I too think it would be best since T has known me longer and spends so much more time with me. I think it's Pdoc who is reluctant. T would like it to work since she needs a Pdoc she can recommend to others. But if Pdoc won't talk to T how can I tell her to recommend when she doesn't seem to think T is important?
