I know how this feels because my T. does it too sometimes. Once in a while, he has really set me off.

I challenge him on this, and he has shown a lot of care and flexibility in making things right again. Part of what he tells me is that he makes mistakes - sometimes he might misunderstand - and sometimes he might even have an "off" or "bad" day himself.

Therapist are just people too. He tells me that as part of my therapy, I have to realize that people (even therapists) do make mistakes. He tells me that even so, the people you can trust are the ones who are sorry they triggered you or hurt or discouraged you - and want to make it right.

There has been a good lesson in that for me.

So I don't know if any of that helps you or not? I just hoped it would.

But HUGS to you anyway! Being triggered is a bad thing. I hope it gets better.
