Zinco, I'm sorry I didn't describe it better, Implanon is a birth control hormonal implant that's placed in your arm. I was tired of taking a pill every day and wanted to try something long term and my doctor recommended it.
TheOriginalMe, thank you for sharing your experiences...I'm on a prescription acne medicine (face wash, not pill) and I still have breakouts, and I notice when I fall asleep without washing my face my acne gets even worse so I definitely still need it. I've started eating better, taking more fiber so I don't feel hungry all the time (that's what implanon did to me, I felt like I was starving all the time, and that feeling has luckily gotten better but I still feel hungry much more than I should be) and I've started taking exercise classes so I'm hoping to see my weight start to come off.
My cycle returned to normal immediately and has been regular ever since...which feels strange to me. Three weeks after the implanon was removed I got my first period and they've been coming once a month ever since. I'm afraid to get on any more hormonal birth controls after this horrible experience so I'm not taking anything...my husband and I have been using condoms. Everything you said made perfect sense, thank you, I feel like I've had a lot of "up" days more recently so I'm hoping that's a good sign...I think I'll see how the next few weeks go and talk to my doctor. Thank you again.
