I do this as well. In my mania i go fro. One thing to the next try to do 15 things in a day.
Ie. Play golf, go to the gym, see a movie, have 8 meaninful phone conversations with old college friends, write in my journal, read my book, skype my girlfriendetc etc
I find it helpful to write about coping strategies on paper, like i want to be aware next time of my mania, and put a stop to the nonsense etc
