I come here for several different reasons.
There are so few people I can really talk to that actually "get it" when it comes to dealing with your mental health. It is helpful to get the thoughts out of my head and share them with those that have understanding. If I have posted something that is painful, many have acknowledged it...which means a lot to me.
I am doing much better now and I do get something from offering empathy or maybe suggestions that have worked for me... I know that not all will use my methods to help get well. Some will "learn" how to get better and I know some suffer because they have done all they can and things are not improving - my heart goes out to them.
I have learned a lot about the brain over the years and it has been the most important thing for me to understand - the why - behind the symptoms. And I love to share the knowledge for those that are open to it.
I love to get into discussions - and there have been some great ones here!
Sometimes I do use the site as a distraction - but in my life it is a healthy distraction.
Lately, a lot of different things have been happening in my life so I'm not here as much...but I'm glad I have this place to go to.
