I have been staying on topic..... the original poster asked if staying off meds was the right thing to do in regards to a personality disorder..... I believe and have read extensively and have a 30+ years experienced psycholgist advise me..... it could be more beneficial for her if she stays off them and tackles things with talk therapy.......
Then the "professional" advisor here has stated that a particular med helps ALL BPD.... so with keeping in mind the original posters question, I asked the advisor for some studies so I too could be informed as well as the original poster..... I received sarcasm and an unprofessional attitude-- replies that are akin to parent-child interaction "Because I said so"...
I just didn't want the original poster being misled as I do care for others and always want the best/safest for anyone.
Still as of this moment, I don't feel reassured that she is not being misled by an advisor... and all those that come to read here and learn...... I know of some former advisors that would help here and I know they would have not ever made such replies and would keep things on a professional level.....
I really was trying to gain knowledge for myself, the poster and anyone reading...
I almost always steer clear of "drama" unless an important message is being mis-represented or misunderstood.
