Honestly my pain stays at a level of 7 pretty much all the time, I have learned to handle it... But when it starts to creep up to a 8 or 9 I just come unglued feels like I can hardly breathe and have no way to handle it besides hit the benzios until I'm snowed under enough to crash and sleep, but can't sleep 24/7.
How do you all handle the spikes ?

Christina, I too am dreading winter. We get cold fronts that move through the state like freight trains. Every last one of them triggers my fibro. I talked to my pdoc about it last winter because my depression was worsening. The solution we came up with was for me to accept that I felt like crap, but it would eventually come to an end. It helped ease my depression. Didn't do a dang thing for the pain, but made it a little easier to cope.
I'm not sure I have any useful advice about how to handle the spikes. I'm having one today myself. My head hurts to badly I want to throw up. I came home from work early because I just couldn't deal with being there any longer. I told myself I'd work from home. Ain't going to happen. I'm going to wrap up in my warm throw and go to bed soon.
