Thanks! It took so long to get internet set up here! Didn't feel right asking for phone service before we knew we had the house (or even could move in!) and then they took a week to start it. Decided to go with DSL through the phone company because it was a better deal, but the wireless company probably would have had us up and running a lot faster.

We didn't close on the house until Friday last week, after the mortgage company had told us Monday, but they kept changing things, and starting over and dragging their feet. They changed their mind because the appraiser said it was a manufactured home (I had told them that from the beginning!) and the appraiser (from out of town) also wouldn't appraise it high enough for the loan (even though other houses right by here that are smaller and not even on a permanent foundation like this one is have been selling for more). Anyway, it's done now, but the payments will be higher than we hoped because they made us take a 20 year loan instead of 30, and have mortgage insurance. I'll have to get a job, and I hope I can find something decent. I've always had really crumby luck with finding jobs. Most of my employers have lied to me and paid me less than they said they would, including a few that paid me less than minimum wage.

I've been able to check e-mail at the library, but they have time limits and I haven't had enough time to come here. Mostly was trying to get letters of recommendation for jobs. I have three applications in - we'll see what happens.

I have really missed you all!!!

Wendy
