I think holistic options are great to incorporate, but be wary of your sources. I read the whole article and it's not scientifically sound. Sea salt DOES have the same potential to raise blood pressure, it contains sodium just as table salt does. The presence of magnesium and potassium....well I won't argue that those are beneficial but you get more of that in a regular healthy diet than you will from a serving of sea salt.

Additionally, they say that sea salt is an "effective substitute for lithium" ???? That is a dangerous claim especially with no references linked to the article with supportive evidence. That it treats depression by stabilizing serotonin and melatonin. Again, no reference proving this, nor has there been evidence that an SSRI + melatonin can effectively treat bipolar disorder.

I'm not saying that picking up some sea salt is going to hurt you, but there's no evidence that consuming it is going to alleviate depression. If anything, there may be a little more evidence that bathing in sea salts may have some health benefits, so maybe that's something you'd be interested in reading up on.

That said I think going back to the basics and taking care of our bodies with adequate hydration, sufficient sleep and good quality nutrients in our food is pretty critical so kudos on that!
