Cerebro, I look up at clouds and see faces. The mind tries to make sense of the randomness of nature. I hear sounds outside and I think it is a child screaming but when I look there are no children. What is happening to you happens to everyone. Most people it does not come out in their waking life but in their dream life.
I am not saying don't reach out for help, but I am saying do not believe the voices. They are no more demons than the noises the trees make in the wind.
Medicine can help refocus your life. The voices don't need to be made to go away, your anxiety and fear needs to be reduced so you do not project that onto sounds and images around you. Those "demons" are a projection of your fears.
I think when people say doctor they mean psychiatric doctor. See if you can get a referral from a trusted friend or family member. If the first one is not sensitive, seek someone else.
The other thing you can do to diminish the awareness of your fears is create little projects for yourself. If the voices come, tell them silently you are busy and cannot be bothered by them. Having a focus whether it is cleaning, walking, cooking a healthy meal, talking to a friend or watching a show, can all give you a focus so the mind is not free to wander. Some people I know do crosswords or do jigsaw puzzles.
