There are alternatives to adderal, most common is Wellbutrin which is a mild stim in the same family as amphetamines but not addictive and classified as a non-narcotic. Works best on bipolar folks. I too suspected I had ADHD but my pdoc called me out on it. He hasked me how I feel on benzo's (xanax, klonopin), do they make me tired or make me feel normal? They make me feel normal and in fact i find I can concentrate better on them. My pdoc was not willing to give me a permanent script for benzos to replace adderal, however the point he was tryinhgh to make, people with bipolar react differently to meds and often receive the wromg diagnosis. He does not think I am adhd, ju7t6s bipolar, and this is just my 2 cents as well
