A friend of mine told me the story of when she lived in tornado country. She was all happy after work one day because she was going to treat her kids to fried chicken, having gotten a bonus at work. She walked home balancing these boxes from the chicken place, chicken, bisquits, slaw, ya know, the works. Suddenly a tornado siren sounded and she jumped and threw all the food.....the tornado never came, and she didn't tell her kids she had had the fried chicken dinner. Scary at the time, but hilarious when she told us the story.
