Hannabee, there is no gas line into my house, but there is a natural gas line running down the street. The natural gas company said they'd run it to my yard for free, but the cost is having the plumber bring it into my house, a short line thru my yard, then thru the basement. I had two estimates, making me reluctant to contact anyone else.
