Both my father and my brother are very successful - one's a CEO of a credit union and the other is a dentist/business manager for the practice/faculty at the med school. Then there is me who is the black sheep, if you will, of the family in more ways than I care to admit. Neither of them really acknowledge the bipolar, but if I told them I was quitting my job I think they would be more concerned about my ability to provide for myself as opposed to being money hungry- they each make significantly more than I do. They want me to be successful in all aspects of my life and that includes being able to provide for myself.
They also wouldn't recommend leaving one job until I have another one lined up. I've heard the "it's much easier to find a job while you are employed" line more times than I care to admit. But again, this comes out of their concern for me.
