I have had a few therapists that really did help... I got the sense that the therapy they provided was an attempt to help me develop better coping skills, and gain some perspective on what I identified as my problems.
But, there were also times when therapists were just plain wrong, sometimes unhelpful, and a few even did more harm than good (even though their motives might have been good).
