you are not alone. I hope your new t helps. make sure it is one that knows how to treat anxiety. I worked for years with one that didn't know what to do with my anxiety at all. it was really frustrating. I finally got a new t who diagnosed me accurately and my anxiety nearly went away. take care
Thank you so much for this. I trust my friends but I still feel a bit of shame when it comes to my anxiety. I'm also warry because of the field I work in but I know you're right about people being a lot more understanding than one would expect.

I'm definitely going to look into pming community liaisons. I previously pmed two ppl on PC who seemed like they might be great for advice but they never wrote back. My message just said " Hi, I saw your post on the (insert name) thread and was wondering if you might be willing to offer me some advice regarding a similar issue."
