I developed it. They recon lithium caused my body to produce antibodies to attack my thyroid, which no longer functions. But I think you need a genetic predisposition for the antibodies to be formed.

I think I'm a rare cause out of all the millions who do take lithium.

It's important to have regular blood tests done.

Unfortunately all meds come with side effects.
