I would say don't make a big thing of announcing your break - wait until people ask because to be honest you don't actually know how long you'll be away.

It sounds like social media is having a nocebo affect - instead of it being an outlet for you to enjoy yourself and receive stimulation, you're worried about it's affects on your life and that in turn could be causing or at least attributing to series of random accidents. Do you feel guilt using social media? Can you think why maybe? Is it stopping you from spending more time with your husband for example? Or does this come more from the anxiety side of things and you find yourself having obsessive thinking and intrusive thoughts? It might be a mixture of unresolved guilt or something similar that's causing the anxiety to seep in and take hold.

Maybe it's just plain old anxiety - i find that my OCD often takes over and destroys a lot of the things i like and enjoy. I would definitely speak to your relevant health care provider and talk perhaps of upping your Atarax dose or trying something new altogether. Maybe your meds are interacting negatively? Behavioural modification might also be useful - i would seek out therapy if you aren't already.

Just some ideas, i'm sure other posters here will be able to contribute more thoroughly. Best of luck.
