Hello. I'm new to this group, although I've been on the psychcentral bipolar forum for awhile. I recently had a severe BP depressive episode that landed me in inpatient. After I left there, I went to our county mental health office to get services. When you go into these programs, you get screened many times by many people - triage, intake nurse, psychiatrist, case manager, etc. So I did this in both places. I was asked if I have a history of sexual abuse probably 8 times within 2 weeks. The answer is yes, but I've never wanted to deal with it and every time I was asked I said yes, but I don't want to talk about it.

I still don't want to talk about it, but I want to get to that point so I can get healthier. I guess the first step in that for me is introducing myself here and just saying (kinda) to the world: yes, I have been sexually abused.
