But speaking of modernization, imagine yourself a mere 15 years ago... Our TVs were all low-def, some people still played music off of large black vinyl discs, communication was by telephone or postal carrier, people didn't converse with their friends in another city using their cell phone while waiting in line at the checkout counter...

Get that image in your head, and imagine this sentence being uttered by someone during normal conversation (posted by emily in the server problems thread)

" I couldn't get on until last night due to dns problems so I understand her frustration. Some bonehead must have a dns server in his mother's basement which he uses for a TV stand.
