I suffer from severe insomnia along with a laundry list of other things. I have tried trazadone, which worked great for like a week then nothing. Doc switched me to serequel which made my legs so restless, I would have to get out of bed and walk around. Anything with Benadryl does the same thing. That being the ingredient of all over the counter sleep aids. My regular doc has been out of the office so I saw someone else and he prescribed me doxepin. I always research any new meds because im on so many, to check for interactions, and read user reviews. This drug seems horrible!! Major interaction with lexapro (which I take), and people were saying that the weight gain was horrific and quick. It also causes restless legs and nightmares so horrible, they would wake up not knowing what was real and what wasn't. It is a very old drug and the research stated that if you take lexapro, DO NOT take doxepin unless completely necessary. I lost my husband to suicide not even a year ago so I don't need crazy nightmares, I'm overweight so that much weight gain (20-30pds in a month??), and yeah I can't use the serequel because of restless legs! I called my nurse and after she talked to a NP and the same doc who prescribed, told me to give it a try anyway. I absolutely refused. This was two weeks ago, and still no resolve. If anyone has taken this med for sleep and it worked well, please let me know. I'm usually willing to try about anything my doc gives me, but this one had red flags all over it! Sorry for the rant

ps I stay up for days at a time which makes my anxiety go thru the roof. I haven't slept in almost 3 days as of this post.
