His bookshelf used to be a bit of a mess so I would imagine standing all the books up straight and try to work out how many more books would fill the shelf if they were straight, but now he's tidied it up I don't look at it so much. His office looks out on miles of beautiful sprawling countryside so if I'm feeling particularly distant I will look out of the window and mentally place myself miles away.
I do try to make eye contact but I struggle with it.
