Okay, the scorpion is very similar to a dragon, which has a lot of meaning in psychology and mythology. The dragon represents the more severe conflicts and fears you are dealing with, and every part of him has meaning. Go to
NATURE ART to read about the meaning of dragons. Everything about dragons means something.
Kittens can represent your more vulnerable, tender, inner child, who feels threatened. Along with that are your feelings of helplessness and guilt to protect and cure yourself. You killed, or wished to kill, a bad problem in your life, but it comes back alive despite your efforts. That's what I see in it, anyway.
BTW the scorpion became my totem animal, in a way, and has numinous, mystical meaning for me because of an experience I had with one in real life. My relatives and friends always told me that if a scorpion ever stings anyone, they will surely die. And so I believed. Then a scorpion stung me on the arm one day, and I knew for sure that I was going to die in a few hours. I sat in a chair and cried, grieving and fearing my immanent death. So, I know what it's really like to face death. Of course someone told me I wouldn't die from the little Florida scorpion, and they all laughed at me. But I do know from that how it feels to face my own death, and always will.
