Tomorrow I am getting a paragard IUD placed. I've been waiting for the chance to do this for quite a few months now, but now I'm getting a little nervous. The procedure is not what bothers me, I have researched and I know the procedure is under five minutes and I have read many articles stating that there's a painful pressure feeling and it generally feels foreign. I am not worried whatsoever about any of that, I believe I have a high pain tolerance.
Anyway, it sounds silly, but what I am nervous about is the after-procedure. In the articles, I read that upon sitting up the majority of patients felt dizzy, faint or sick. Everything considered, I'm excited to finally have the birth control that I initially wanted.
Has anybody here had an IUD placed, skyla, mirena or paragard? And how was your experience?
