When I was in hospital I enjoyed playing conga drums in music therapy. When I got home I thought I can't live without drums! I went out to a specialist drumstore and bought a beautiful pair of conga drums. In case they weren't enough I bought two djembe drums too. Oh and some maracas. I got my friend to transport them home for me - the shop assistant asked if he was my roadie!
Got them home to my flat. Oh oh. I live in a small flat which is full of stuff, no room for all these drums. I live in a block of flats with strict rules about noise and not upsetting the neighbours. I used to play guitar and sing in a band in my teenage years - many years ago. I never played the drums. Where and when exactly did I think I was going to play these drums?
The last ten years I have already amassed three guitars, three violins, three violas, two banjos, two concertinas. Oh and a keyboard. One violin, one viola and the keyboard are electric so at least I can control th volume and keep it down! All of these have a story attached. But I had to give the drums away...
